Coleman & Fairburn is one of the few commercial builders in Sydney still maintaining its own Joinery Shop. Our Joinery Shop is staffed by our experienced craftsmen, all with extensive knowledge of traditional high-quality joinery.

As well as undertaking joinery fabrication for Coleman & Fairburn's own contracts, our Joinery Shop also carries out fabrication and installation of joinery works for other commercial building companies including: St Hilliers P/L, Probuild P/L, Richard Crookes Constructions, Austin Australia, Colsten Constructions P/L and Van Veen Brothers.

Our Joinery Shop is very experienced in the conservation of heritage joinery work and has successfully re-created traditional fire-place surrounds from photographs and sketches of heritage items stolen from the historic Mt Wilga house in Hornsby. Our joiners are often called upon to matching moulding profiles and repair timber windows and doors from heritage buildings, including the Mint Building Sydney and Dept of Defence buildings at Cockatoo Island and Georges Heights.

Coleman & Fairburn's joinery shop was also selected to fabricate and install new gothic carvings and joinery for St Mary's Cathedral, Sydney. In this 18-month project solid Queensland Maple timber was machined and carved to produce stunning new Sanctuary Joinery including: Chancel Screens, a Cathedra & Exultation, a new Celebrants Chair, new Credence Tables, new Sanctuary Chairs & Stools, a new Prie Dieu and a Fauld Stool. In all 7 highly skilled joiners and carvers worked on this $1.8m project which was delivered in time for World Youth Day 2008.
