Coleman & Fairburn has successfully completed a number of adaptive re-use and refurbishment projects involving heritage buildings. Our staff, from project managers, site foremen, carpenters & joiners, have extensive experience in renovating heritage buildings whilst still preserving the original fabric & details of the building.
The culture of our company reflects the professional training & experience of our managers and the quality of our work is a direct result of the pride taken by our tradespeople. Coleman and Fairburn is a company that is not interested in taking short-cuts or accepting any second-rate work by subcontractors. Rather we offer a professional building service and jealously guard our reputation for fair-dealing and quality building at all times.
Our experienced Joinery Shop often plays an integral role in the successful delivery of these heritage projects. We are able to draw on the skills of our own joiners to either repair or faithfully reproduce the details and mouldings of the original doors, frames or windows.
Coleman & Fairburn's experience in this sector ranges from conservation works at heritage Mt Wilga House in Hornsby to the adaptive re-use of historic Buildings 28 & 29 at the old Dept of Defence Training Command Headquarters at Georges Heights. This $2.9m project involved preserving and renovating the historic fabric of the original timber-framed Defence Department buildings as well as constructing new linking spaces to achieve a modern office environment to be used as the new headquarters for the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust.
